How Often Should My Bird See the Vet?
We recommend that your bird receives a health check every 6 months, sooner if you notice any changes in behaviour, voice, energy levels, thirst, appetite and droppings. New health issues can develop quickly in exotic pets, so any changes should be treated as a potential emergency. During a general health check consultation, we will assess things like body condition, feather condition, droppings, behaviour and more.

Generally really happy, macaws are a hard one to deal with and especially when you have one freak out coming out of sedation. Not only did you look after my boy you made sure I was okay after he bit me while he freaked out. Couldn't be happier considering the circumstances, unfortunate but still great care and all I can ask for. Making sure my boy was well looked after, ensuring he was good to go home after he hurt himself in a panic.

Came here with one of my backyard chickens who was very distressed by constant coughing and wheezing. As I did not have the skills required to apply any intervention I had to seek professional care. She was cared for by Dr Josie who was thorough, careful and reassuring. She has now been put on a course of antibiotics. This vet clinic is fantastic, we've taken our eclectus parrot here a few times now. We really appreciate the vets' knowledge in avian health, and importantly, the genuine kindness and care of all the staff at the clinic. It's such a relief in a time of stress to feel comfortable leaving our bird in their care. In our bird's first annual check up with Dr Jade we had ample time to ask questions and know that our bird was receiving a thorough exam.
