How Often Should My Bird See the Vet?
We recommend that birds receive a health check at least every 6 months, with more frequent checks sometimes recommended depending on their species, age or health.
Birds can hide signs of illness, so changes in appetite, weight, droppings, breathing, activity, vocalisation, feather condition or behaviour should be taken seriously. Regular health checks allow us to assess your bird’s weight and body condition, feathers, skin, beak, eyes and general health, while also reviewing important aspects of nutrition, husbandry and behaviour.

Generally really happy, macaws are a hard one to deal with and especially when you have one freak out coming out of sedation. Not only did you look after my boy you made sure I was okay after he bit me while he freaked out. Couldn't be happier considering the circumstances, unfortunate but still great care and all I can ask for. This vet clinic is fantastic, we've taken our eclectus parrot here a few times now. We really appreciate the vets' knowledge in avian health, and importantly, the genuine kindness and care of all the staff at the clinic.
